Electro-formed Diamond Core-drills
PIOFINE Electro-formed Diamond Core-drills are thin-walled pure Nickel Drilling tubes, yet strong and sturdy, with high Natural / Synthetic diamond concentration. Advantages: extremely fast-cutting, long tool-life, less drilling forces and power requirements.

Application Hints
PIOFINE Electro-formed Diamond Core-drills can be used on special drilling-machines, as well as on any drill-press and milling-machine, as long as the machine spindle is vibration-free and, sufficient motor-power and speed are available. Sufficient cooling has to be provided. The coolant is usually supplied through a "Coolant attachment" and through a hollow drill-spindle. If this however is not available, the coolant can be supplied by submerging the workpiece and drilling contact area in water to cool and remove cuttings. To avoid damage to the drill bench as well as the core-drill, it is recommended a drill depth-stop be used as well as a glass or stone etc. underlay. Just before "breaking through", feed should be reduced to avoid chipping on the bottom of the material, and possible jamming of the core-drill. Jammed cores should immediately be gently removed. A light tapping on the side of the stationary core-drill, above the diamond segment, is often sufficient. Increased water pressure can also be used to flush out the core, or by removing the core-drill in order to push the core out. Take care not to damage the core-drill. Blunt Diamond core-drills can be dressed using a piece of silicone-carbide grinding-stone (Grit 60-100), with flushing. We also supply special rubber-bond Dressing blocks.
